Project was created during Alejandro Chaskielberg's masterclass at ISSP 2016. The closer things seem bigger they appear. Even small things can have a big sense for someone. The “Vulcans” factory producing matches was established in Kuldiga in 1878. Soon it grew into the biggest plant in the city employing many people. In 2004 the factory was closed and now it’s totally abandoned. I’d like to play with the proportion of things, the meanings of personal and common. I selected some simple structures from the photos of the factory and recreated them with matches using the archival photos of workers of that plant as a foundation. So try to match a match.
